Emma’s Reserve is the private collection of winemaker Emma Gao, with only 2,000 bottles produced per year. This limited edition wine represents the highest attainment of quality at Silver Heights, in Ningxia, and in China.

Tasting Notes

It is a great wine comparable to Bordeaux Grand Crus. It
is layered with fresh black and red fruit flavors and coffee, toffee, white chocolate aromas from the oak influence. Every tertiary notes such as earthiness and cigar are emerging after several years of aging. It has a rounded full body with soft and smooth tannin, delicate acidity and long finish with coffee berry floral notes. Long aging potential.

• Cold maceration, temperature controlled fermentation.
• Aged in 100% French new oak barrels for 24 months.

The Summit

Story

The Summit is our flagship wine, created from a traditional Bordeaux blend. Its name is taken from a famous ancient Chinese poem that represents the spirit of the Ningxia people. By proclaiming this wine “the summit”, we announce our determination to produce world-class wines.

Tasting Notes

“The Summit” reveals an attractive array of ripe dark fruit and spice with hints of oak. Great fruit concentration on the palate with flavour layers and well-modulated tannins.

• Cold maceration, temperature controlled fermentation.
• Aged in 100% French new oak barrels for 12 months.
• Lees racking. Filtered by traditional Bordeaux methods to preserve complexity.

Family Reserve

Story

Family Reserve has always been our winemakers’ favorite. It takes patience to fully appreciate this wine, because only after a long period of decanting can you completely discover its charms. Elegant and complex, we often call this the ballerina of our range.

Tasting Notes

An aromatic nose of cassis and herbaceous notes, it has great finesse on the palate. Well-structured with excellent fruit and oak integration, coupled with soft, subtle tannins.

• Aged in French oak barrels (20% new) for 12 months.

Family Reserve Chardonnay

Story

Family Reserve Chardonnay represents the highest quality of Silver Heights white wine. Made in a Burgundy style, it has been widely acclaimed once its first vintage in 2014.In 2016, it was selected for a State banquet, a signal of high honor and recognition in the PRC.

Tasting Notes

The nose reveals concentrated ripe tropical notes with an oak influence. On the palate it is fresh and lively, well-structured, with a zesty edge.

Jiayuan Pinot Noir

Story

Silver Heights vineyard’s new collection “Jiayuan” expresses the purity of Ningxia’s Helan mountain foothills and shares Emma’s passion for minimal intervention winemaking. Fermented using only wild yeasts naturally blooming in the vineyard, the wines show a raw beauty born holistically from our ecosystem. Since the early days, Silver Heights has followed the age-old wisdom of the Chinese “Jieqi” solar terms while also adhering to organic practices. We embrace a philosophy of sustainability.

Tasting Notes

The wine opens with sweet spice and toasty aromas, followed by sweet raspberry, strawberry and dried cranberry. Delicately framed with crisp acidity, silky tannins and mineral undertones.

Winemaking

• This wine was selected from our best plots of Pinot Noir vines, using minimal sulfur and avoid filtration.
• Aged for 16 months in French oak, 80% new. The wine sees additional bottle ageing until ready for release.

Story

The Last Warrior is a delicious wine from Silver Heights’ entry collection. We wanted to convey the courage and tenacity of the Ningxia people to the world by using the word “Warrior” in the name. This dry red has incredible value, and is often favored by five-star hotels and high-end restaurants.

Tasting Notes

This red blend flaunts fresh, ripe aromas of dark fruit(cherry, blackberry), it will also divulge a mix of further aromatic notes such as hawthorn, mint and cigar. It has a lingering smooth finish.

Winemaking

• Grapes are 100% hand picked and selected.
• Cold maceration, temperature-controlled fermentation,gentle and slow pressed.
• Aged in 30% French oak barrel, as well as 70% stainless steel vats for 12 months.

The Last Warrior is a delicious wine from Silver Heights’ entry collection. We wanted to convey the courage and tenacity of the Ningxia people to the world through the name of Warrior. This is an incredible value, with countless honors and awards received. Jancis Robinson gives 15.5 of 20. Completely sold out since its first release.

This white blend has an array of tropical fruit aromas with a crisp, dry, and refreshing quality.

• Slow and gentle pressing, temperature controlled fermentation, careful oxygen protection.
• No malolactic fermentation to retain lightness and fresh acidity
• Aged in 30% Burgundy oak barrel and 70% stainless steel vats for three months.
